Description:
Our Summer Bike Camp is designed for 6th–9th graders who are confident riders and ready to go beyond the basics. This camp is all about adventure, exploration, and independence. Each day, we'll ride through different neighborhoods in Tacoma, using the city’s bike infrastructure to get there.
Campers will help choose our destinations and map out our routes, learning hands-on skills like route planning and bike safety along the way. Through these daily rides, students will gain confidence, discover new parts of their community, and see how bikes can be powerful tools for freedom, fun, and sustainable transportation.
This camp is free for all participants thanks to sponsorship by the City of Tacoma's Safe Routes to School Program with funding from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
Registration deadline is July 11th.
Students from low-income households attending school in Tacoma will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. Student's whose households do not qualify as low income will be put on a waitlist until 7/11 and will be notified about availability. We will contact you within 3-5 business days after completing the form.
Only 15 spots are available for each camp. The Urban Cycling Camp will be held at the 2nd Cycle Community Bike Shop at 1207 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Tacoma, WA 98405.
