Get ready for the Destiny Dozen! 🚴♂️ This urban cycling adventure will have you climbing 12 of Tacoma toughest hills (or cheering other riders from the comfort of the “views only” route). Whether you're racing against the clock or enjoying the journey with fellow cyclists, every pedal stroke contributes to our shared goal of supporting Tacoma's only non-profit community bike shop. Registration is just $60, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Route 1: The Fun Group
This group rides at a pace of 10-14 MPH between hills, ensuring a no-drop ride experience. Together, we'll tackle each hill, aiming to conquer them without losing elevation or putting a foot down. While a couple of hills may require brief stops for traffic safety, the focus is on reaching the top together. Only two of the 12 hills will have this exception; the remainder will be raced from the moment the whistle blows until the summit.
Route 2: The Fun Group with Views Only
Not interested in the hills but still want a beautiful tour of Tacoma? This route rides with the “fun group” for most of the route, but skips the hill climbs.
Route 3: The Fast Group
Ready to crush some hills at top speed and win prizes? The Fast Group follows the same route as The Fun Group, but we’ll ride at a brisk 16-18 MPH between hills. This option follows the same rules and spirit of camaraderie as the Fun Group, with the added thrill of pushing the pace.
